Studies and research has shown, that skinny guys react better to lower volume training on a muscle, but with more frequency.

A great workout plan that adheres to these findings is a 3 days a week program, using full body workouts. This workout plan lets you work the entire body, but doesn’t damage the muscle to much, so that it cannot repair itself.

The best exercises to perform for these workouts are the big movements such as squats, deadlifts, rows, benches etc.

You are also best having two full body workouts you can alternate between. This means you get to work your muscles through different angles and exercise, which will work more muscle fibres.

Another good workout plan that adheres to the above principles of lower volume and higher frequency. Is the upper and lower split, done 4 times per week.

For these workouts you work the lower body one day and the upper the next. These workouts let you get a bit more volume onto the muscles per workout but have less frequency.
